koala slimline card with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies

You are koala-fied for hugs! Slimline cards are everywhere and I had to join the party! The slimline dies I bought from Lawn Fawn also included some slider dies, so I tried that for the first time as well. This card is featured on the Scrapbookpal.com blog . I have been coloring cute Lawn Fawn critters with glee ever since taking a virtual class from Jenn Shurkus . She has the best Copic coloring tips and shading guides. And the embossing at the bottom gave me all the heart eyes! I used Versamark black ink with clear sparkly embossing powder. The black ink kept the smaller font nice and crisp, rather than relying solely on the embossing powder. Lawn Fawn octopus slider card

You octopi my thoughts! One of my favorite Copic techniques is using the colorless blender to add polka dots or other patterns. It was perfect for the octopus suckers. And a white Gelly Roll pen added just the right finishing touches. sew in love - for mother's day

I couldn't wait to start stitching some brightly colored hearts, using the Concord & 9th Sew In Love die set. My first stitched piece was finished right in time for a mother's day card. It was a serious pain to get all the die cut holes poked out, but less than 10 minutes of work with a needle tool meant I didn't have to deal with dots flying everywhere while I was stitching. This brightly colored DMC embroidery floss grabbed my attention the last time I was at the craft store. I always love to see the back of stitched pieces. I have an ongoing competition with myself to try to keep the backs just as neat as the front. I trimmed the stitched piece down right before mounting it on a square card with foam tape. It is currently in transit to my mother in law in Hawaii. She loves raspberry pink, so hopefully this makes her smile.
