fresh {vintage} typewriter

I have a typewriter to call my own again!  Back when I was a kid I had this little blue typewriter that I would use to write stories and generally make a mess when I tried to "fix" the ink ribbon.  Unfortunately the typewriter did not survive my childhood.  Not long ago I decided that I MUST get my hands on a typewriter again so I can use it for journaling in my scrapbooks. Since I couldn't afford the beautifully restored Royal pink one , I found a much more affordable one on eBay.  And boy was I surprised when it arrived!  Not only was it it really good working order (just needed a new ribbon and a tune-up), but it has script letters instead of the typical typewriter font .  I still haven't decided if that is a good thing or not...since I really had my heart set on the "look" of typed journaling spots. So for now I am practicing my typing and getting everything set up to get started on my first mini book for my baby girl.  Planning to have a page ...

fresh easter cards

It's almost Easter!  And I have found some of the cutest decorations this year.  They're a bit hard to see in this picture, but I found some vintage looking specked eggs at Michael's, which were the perfect addition to the wood basket I already had.  I also found the jadeite bunny on a basket glass piece on eBay.  Perfect for hiding treats! I snuck in a 20 minute craft session last weekend and decided to make a couple easter cards with some paper scraps to keep it quick.  The one below used a tag that I had actually made for last Easter, and then I just mounted it with foam dots onto a few layers of patterned paper and the card. This one used the same chocolate bunny stamp image (from Stampin' Up), as well as my new favorite accent - baker's twine.  The background paper is also one of my favorites - it is the apple blossom paper from Basic Grey a few years back.  I distressed the edges a bit with a scraper and then some ink to give it a vintage fe...
